NVD is guided by a dynamic board with diverse expertise in business, corporate governance, development, and hospitality in both northern communities and major centres.
Jennifer Byram
Jennifer is a lifelong Yukoner and President of Pelly Construction, with more than 35 years of experience leading remote infrastructure projects across the North and Antarctica. She has founded and supported several joint ventures with First Nations and served on boards focused on safety, mining, and northern economic development.
Hannes Kovac
As President and CEO of OPUS Corporation, Hannes has developed more than 25 million sq. ft. of real estate across Calgary. Known for his energy and innovation, he also contributes to Calgary Economic Development and the Calgary Film Centre, with a strong commitment to community causes and sports sponsorships.
Ian McAuley
With extensive executive experience in the hospitality sector, Ian has led more than $2B in transactions and operations in Canada and the U.S. A former director of the Hotel Association of Canada, Ian is also an accomplished musician and sits on the board of The Musical Stage Company.
Lori Simcox
Lori is a citizen of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in. She is a business consultant with expertise in Indigenous partnerships and economic development. She leads SPAL General Constructors and sits on multiple boards, including Royal Roads University and the Indigenous Tourism Association of BC.
Rich Thompson
Co-founder of NVD, Rich has led award-winning ventures in real estate, media, and diagnostics across western Canada. A passionate entrepreneur and community leader, he served on YPO’s International Board and chaired the Yukon Chamber of Commerce. He was named Yukon Innovator of the Year in 2021.
